“In one of these afternoons sat by the desk, painfully watching the hours pass between lunch and dinner time, I opened my camera roll to check what I had shot before this lockdown era. I saw many photos of places I had been, the foods I ate, urban details I found funny, many selfies taken to figure out new pimples, but no pictures of my friends! I felt crushed for a minute. Like many things in our fast paced lives before the pandemic, I took their faces for granted knowing they were always a message away.
That’s why I am delighted to share this little recording from 2016 of me singing ‘Hello’ by Adele to my friends. It was part of a one-night fashion presentation I organised at a local brown bar in Amsterdam. In March 2019, we brought this cozy mood to Kunstfort in ‘Perspectives’, a one-day multidisciplinary festival celebrating arts, crafts and the beauty of being together.”
