During Amsterdam Dance Event, the exhibition space of the concrete bunker of Kunstfort will change into an intimate setting with an evening-filling music program. The reason is the new exhibition Dancing Defence: Space, Ritual, Gesture by Bogomir Doringer which opens in Kunstfort Saturday, October 19. The show revolves around his research of club cultures as a social-political phenomenon. Doringer started his I Dance Alone project in 2014, in which he recorded people in nightclubs and observed them as a mirror of social and political change. In clubs people claim their freedom. Political resistance is expressed in dance: bodies move between trance and ritual and explore liberties – such as queerness – that are often delicate in daily reality.

We invite you to explore the limits of your freedom during this intimate dance evening, surrounded by the video installations of Bogomir Doringer.
