Return to overview

On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September, Kunstfort will participate in Open Monument Day 2024

As in previous years, the fort will be open for all to explore with historical tours available on both days. Indian artist Arjun Das will also give a wood sculpting workshop this year. His work is currently part of our group exhibition ‘In the vacuum we felt air’ which you can also visit that weekend!

During this workshop, Arjun invites visitors to experiment with traditional woodcarving techniques, which he also uses himself in his work. By drawing your own design and then carving, cutting and chiselling it into a tree trunk, you can delve into this delicate craft. Arjun will also provide insight into how these techniques relate to his own artistic practice. No prior knowledge is required and tools and wood will be provided.

We look forward to seeing you at our beautiful fort – provincial monument and Unesco World Heritage Site!
