Application deadline: 30 April 2026, 23:59 CET
Kunstfort Vijfhuizen & Czech Centre Brussels are pleased to be part of the second edition of Zoöp Connections, with a four-week residency for artists, researchers, and creative practitioners with a connection to Czechia, taking place mid-September to mid-October 2026 at a UNESCO world heritage site in Vijfhuizen, the Netherlands.
About the programme
Zoöp Connections is a Europe-wide network of residencies rooted in the Zoöp model — a regenerative framework that integrates more-than-human voices and ecological perspectives into cultural practice and organisational learning. The programme prioritises process, shared inquiry, and co-creation over predefined outcomes, creating spaces where ecosystems and humans learn and act together toward ecological restoration and transformation.
What the residency offers
Residents will have the opportunity to engage deeply with the living landscape of Kunstfort Vijfhuizen and its community during the four-week residency. Each resident is also invited to leave a Trace of Care — a site-specific gesture or intervention that contributes to the biodiversity and life-carrying capacity of the local ecosystem.
Practical conditions include on-site accommodation, a daily stipend of €50 gross, travel reimbursement with a preference for land-based travel, and access to a workshop with tools and technical support.
Who can apply
Practitioners aged 18 and over, based in a Creative Europe country outside the Netherlands, with a demonstrable connection to Czech culture, and an artistic, regenerative, and/or ecological practice. All disciplines are welcome — including visual art, performance, sound, research, writing, design, and education.
How to apply
Prepare a portfolio (max. 10 pages, up to 3 projects), a CV, and a motivation statement (max. 500 words or a short video). Applications are submitted in English via the online form linked below.
