Recently, we celebrated the opening of our new group exhibition Shame of the shuffled cards, which explores themes such as survival, privilege, opportunity, and responsibility.

The afternoon began with opening words from community programmer Manon Schreurs. Visitors were then invited to take part in the greenscreen installation by Rafael Roncato, whose work investigates mechanisms of propaganda, fake news, and the legacy of former far-right Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro.

Anton Shebetko led a touching collective reading session. Together with a small group of participants, he shared texts by queer people from Ukraine, reflecting on moments of resistance, identity, and self-discovery. The intimate setting created space for collective listening and reflection, linking personal stories to broader histories of uprooting and resilience.

Bebe Blanco Agterberg engaged visitors in a conversation about the Dutch narrative of “the fight against the water.” ChihChung Chang showed how the tools we use in our struggle against water damage the very environments we live in. Dagmar Bosma explained their research into the workings of rust in the form of concrete decay, and Sebastian Mügge welcomed visitors into the shelters he and his brother created for both the community and the ultra-rich.

The day concluded with drinks with the artists and visitors, followed by a survival meal preserved in jars by Hannibal Kitchen.
