You are warmly invited to the finissage of our exhibition programme ‘In the vacuum we felt air’. A varied programme awaits you, including an opening speech, a cheese-making workshop, a picking walk, an interview with one of the artists and snacks & drinks. It will take place from 14:00 to 17:00h on Sunday 22 September.
Artist Cristina Lavosi, whose work can also be seen in the exhibition, invites us to a cheese-making workshop around her installation ‘A Choral Accomplishment’, which explores the political and communal potential of home cheese-making. During the workshop, visitors can collectively learn about this age-old tradition and enjoy delicious homemade cheese. There will also be a picking walk at the fort led by our ecology officer Mariken Straat.
Furthermore, a conversation will take place with artist and filmmaker Sabine Groenewegen, whose work ‘Remanence’ in the exhibition, addresses the pre-war women’s peace movement. Sabine uses historical, rediscovered sources. In the talk, which also coincides with the National Peace Week, she will explore this material, the people in it and the ways in which they collectively developed.
Take this last chance to still see the exhibition, which revolves around vacuums, cocoons and echo chambers, as well as refuges, sanctuaries and safe spaces. You will be welcomed with snacks and drinks, some of which we will prepare collectively!
