Timur Akhmetov – KIDS OF CHAOS: Scene of Evacuation
07.04 – 23.06.2019

“16 sunrises and 16 sunsets here past through
with the soft sensation of worry..

Do you see those kids
trapped in millennial glow?
that feel so uneasy
in a broad day light

they summon at
very well lit public space
asking another question about life!

oh, they are so unlike us..”

Timur Akhmetov (Russia, 1985) has graduated from Gerrit Rietveld Academy and received his master at MFA at Piet Zwart Institute. Lived and worked in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin and Prague and is currently based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Akhmetov creates installations that are drawn from the knowledge that comes from his day-to-day practice of living. Presentations include video works that capture the oddity, complexity and the wonder of life. This he combines with spoken word and performance.

This Spring also on show at Kunstfort:
– Nicola Arthen – Eagle & Hesitant Vehicles at the Genieloods
– Interventions by HARD-CORE, Ann Lislegaard and Coralie Vogelaar (related events in May and June)
– Vincent Knopper is the first participant of Kunstfort Kasus, a residency program for artists and designers to extend their studio practice for one year to the Kunstfort area

Pay attention: This exhibition is limited accessible for wheelchair users

The Kunstfort is supported by the Municipality of Haarlemmermeer and the Mondriaan Fund
