Hypertrophic Abyss

Return to overview

Annika Kappner (Berlin, 1980) shows an intervention with the forts trees which are planted near the canal. She works with colorful resin sheets. Installed at the Canadian poplars facing the flat landscape, they unveil novel, surprising dimensions of the particular environment of the Kunstfort. Hypertrophic Abyss investigates the archaic visual language of deep sea marine biology, juxtaposed with artificial contemporary materials and military elements.
